Job Introduction

In September 2015, TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains, opened a brand new purpose built 1 million sq. ft. distribution centre at Amesbury, Wiltshire. This site supports the Company’s store growth across the south of the UK.

At a total investment of over £125 million the site is one of the most advanced and highly automated distribution centres in the UK and to support our phenomenal growth, we are currently looking to recruit a Resourcing Advisor to join the Amesbury HR Team.

Reporting to the HR Manager the Resourcing Advisor will be responsible for the coordination of recruitment activities, as well as providing generalist HR support to the business.

Role Responsibility

Main responsibilities include:

The coordination of recruitment activities:

  • Work closely with the HR Manager and business to implement the People Strategy across the site
  • Plan, coordinate and run weekly recruitment days at the Amesbury Distribution Centre
  • Review interview question templates and assessments
  • Draft adverts with hiring managers
  • Post adverts internally and externally
  • Compile CVs for hiring managers
  • Provide feedback to candidates
  • Schedule and support interviews
  • Coordinate the issue and return of new starter documentation and contracts of employment (including right to work documentation)
  • Work with the HR Administrator to maintain the Home Bargains Careers Portal (updating candidate statuses, replying to correspondence)
  • Provide regular resourcing reports and statistics
  • Manage adhoc resourcing projects

Generalist responsibilities:

  • Assist with Employee Relations issues, such as probation reviews and absence management
  • Provide guidance to Managers and employees on Company policies and procedures
  • Note take in investigation meetings
  • Provide annual leave cover for the weekly pay run
  • Run the daily HR clinic for employees on site and resolve any queries raised

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate Level 5 CIPD
  • Excellent working knowledge of recruitment processes and legislation underpinning this area, including Equal Opportunities and Data Protection
  • Experience in HRIS including, accessing, inputting, compiling and reporting and interpreting, advising and implementing company policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to communicate with a diverse customer group and excellent written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports and to present this information appropriately.
  • Experience of working in a team and sharing work experiences for the benefit of learning and the ability to work within tight and often conflicting timeframes is essential.

Package Description

  • up to £30,000 per annum
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service
