Warehouse Operative

Job Introduction

Based at our brand new, purpose built, one million sq. ft. distribution centre at Amesbury, Wiltshire the site supports our plans to grow from 460 to 900 stores.

The site is one of the most advanced and highly automated distribution centres in the UK and runs 24/7.

Shift options for this temporary Christmas contract include:

- 20 hrs per week (4hrs per day covering any 5 days out of 7) or 37.5hrs per week (7.5hrs per day, covering any 5 days out of 7) on one of the following shifts:

  • Earlies – 6.00am - 2.00pm
  • Lates  – 2.00pm – 10.00pm
  • Nights – 10.00pm – 6.00am

- 48hrs per week (12hrs per day, 2 days on, 2 days off)

All of the shifts detailed above include weekend work.

Suitable candidates will be reliable with a hands on approach to work.

General warehouse duties include using a caddy picking system, Order Picking Units (OPUs), Pedestrian Picking, Secure Picking and manual handling.

Role Responsibility

  • Complete general warehouse duties including picking, dekit, loading and decant
  • Work towards achievement of pick rate and other targets
  • Adhere to health and safety practices and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

  • Able to work to targets
  • Able to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes
  • Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided

Package Description

  • £8.34 per hour
  • Temporary contracts available between 13th November 2017 and 7th January 2018 (8 weeks maximum length)

  • Part time roles and full time roles available
