Warehouse Operatives

Job Introduction

Based at our Head Office and Distribution Centre at Axis Business Park, Portal Way, Gillmoss the site supports our network of Home Bargains stores.

The site runs 24/7 and available contracts include working between 3 and 5 days per week:

  • Weekends (3 and 4 day contracts)
  • Day Shift - any 5 from 7 including Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday 

Day Shifts are alternating weekly shifts; week one 6am - 2pm and week two 2pm - 10pm.

Suitable applicants will be reliable with a hands on approach to work.

General warehouse duties include using headsets to receive picking instruction, operating Order Picking Units (OPUs), undertaking Pedestrian Picking and Secure Picking and involves considerable manual handling.

Role Responsibility

  • Complete general warehouse duties including picking, de-kit, loading and decant
  • Follow instruction and adhere to health and safety practices and procedures
  • Work towards achievement of pick rate and other KPI targets
  • Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to work to targets
  • Able to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes
  • For insurance purposes, applicants must be at least 18 years old
