LGV (HGV) Class I Drivers

Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit Class I LGV Drivers for our Head Office and Distribution site based in Gillmoss, Liverpool to work on the day shift covering a 5 on 3 off shift pattern averaging 44 hours per week

Essentially we are looking for competent and reliable drivers to deliver to our network of stores across the UK. Although multi-drop experience would be an advantage it is not essential as full training will be provided.

Role Responsibility

  • To drive vehicles with due care and attention and a respect for traffic law, company policy and company procedures.
  • To fully comply with driver hours and regulations.
  • To ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard in line with health and safety, legal requirements and company process.
  • The ability to carefully load and unload cages at the store with regard to personal safety as instructed in the company health and safety manual.
  • The ability to connect to a trailer and carry out vehicle checks promptly.
  • Responsible to ensure that deliveries are made on time and at the right place, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Valid C+E Driving Licence
  • Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence card (DCPC) is essential
  • Minimum of 25 years of age with a minimum of 12 months experience in a C+E role for insurance purposes
  • Understanding and working knowledge of WTR; EU driver hours and working time rules
  • Task orientated approach
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Pass internal driver assessment
  • Minimal infringements

Package Description

  • From £30,620 per annum
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service
